About the Owner
Allan Thomason
After working alongside my father to grow his painting business for ten years, I saw a need for an industrial concrete overlay specialist in our area. In August of 2008 my wife and I made the trip to Cleveland where I shadowed an expert in the field. We ordered the machinery we needed to start doing floors back home before we had even left, and Shorecrete Coatings was born.
Since then I have had the privilege of personally completing hundreds of projects; both residential and commercial. Seeing the smiles on my customer's faces when I transform their unappealing concrete into a beautiful yet durable floor they can enjoy is the highlight of my career. I now have over 12 years of experience working with these materials and learning what I can do with them, as well as over 20 years of experience in the carpentry industry overall.
I could not have gotten this far without the support of my wife, Katie, and our five children. Starting a business during the 2008 recession was not easy, but they believed in me; we have never been the family to do things the easy way. My family is very involved with giving back to the community, as we are blessed to live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. I look forward to making our rural area even greater - one floor at a time.
